Literally ZERO black ATHLETES join WOKE NAACP Florida BOYCOTT!
Black athletes do not appear to have any interest in taking up the NAACP’s boycott of Florida over its Republican-led policies, according to a College Fix analysis, which identified at least 35 of the top-ranked black student athletes in basketball and football who recently signed with universities in the Sunshine State.
“To all current and prospective college student-athletes – the NAACP urges you to reconsider any potential decision to attend, and compete at a predominantly white institution in the state of Florida,” the March 11 letter had stated.
“This is not about politics. It’s about the protection of our community, the progression of our culture, and most of all, it’s about your education, and your future,” stated the letter stated, also addressed to NCAA President Charlie Baker.

🇺🇸 #NeverAgain: Aftermath of the Florida school shooting - The Listening Post
Sometimes it's worth waiting for a story to play out and then examining what's been reported in the aftermath. The Florida school shooting, which happened three weeks ago, is one of those cases. At least 17 people were killed when a gunman opened fire on students and teachers at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. According to police, 19-year-old Nikolas Cruz confessed to carrying out the shooting. He allegedly used an AR-15-style semiautomatic rifle.
Unlike some previous school shootings in the US, the survivors didn't shy away from the cameras - they went looking for them.
The teenagers used the plentiful airtime they got to push for tougher gun control laws. And they found themselves taking on not just politicians, but one of the most potent lobby groups around - the...

The letter criticized Florida and Gov. Ron DeSantis for eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion spending at state universities and other initiatives.
“Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has made no effort to conceal his administration’s devaluation of Black America,” the NAACP wrote. “From racist voting policies, to unraveling reproductive freedoms and attempting to rewrite Black history, DeSantis has waged war on Black America.”
“Now, as a result of his administration’s anti-Black ideals, all state-funded universities in Florida will be forced to dismantle their diversity, equity, and inclusion programs,” the NAACP wrote.
The dark picture painted by the NAACP has not swayed athletes in the past month, a College Fix analysis found.
The Fix identified 35 of the top-ranked black student athletes in basketball and football, two high profile sports, who have signed with Florida universities.
The Fix shared this list with the NAACP and asked for comment. The group has not responded to two emailed inquiries sent in the past three weeks. The Fix sent another email on April 4 to Press Secretary Alicia Mercedes and Public Relations Manager Chyna Fields, asking if anyone has decommitted. Neither responded to the email.
That number includes Jalil Bethea, who signed with the University of Miami, and is the sixth best player in the class of 2024, according to ESPN.
He’ll be joined next year by Austin Swartz, the 43rd best player. University of Florida has two of the top ten football players joining campus next year, both of whom are black.
A news search about “decommits” did not yield any proof of black athletes leaving Florida universities due to the NAACP boycott demand.

U.S. Constitution NOT void where prohibited by law !!
We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause. We want to thank you in advance for your support of what we do and want you to know that we are committed to working harder than ever to defend our rights, your rights and the Freedom to Film in Public!!

And they found themselves taking on not just politicians, but one of the most potent lobby groups around - the National Rifle Association. Their fight and the NRA's pushback, took place online.
NRATV wants more Americans to buy guns. It goes after those who stand in their way. And that, the channel would have you believe, includes the US mainstream news media.
An NRA video posted seven days after the Florida shooting didn't target politicians or activists advocating gun control. It was devoted, in its entirety, to the way the news media cover the issue.
"Well as a conservative who has spent much of my career condemning the liberal mainstream news media in this country, I think that philosophically the NRA is right to do it. Now do they overdo it [with their online campaign]? Probably so. Mainly because when you don't like the message you attack the messenger," says John Ziegler, a columnist for Mediaite.
According to Melissa Ryan, a visiting fellow at Media Matters for America, "It's in the NRA's interest to convince their user base that the mainstream media can't be trusted. Because if their users mistrust the mainstream media they're going to be more likely to listen to NRA as a source for for their news."
Unlike previous mass shootings, however, the surviving students – who through their savvy communications skills and social media accounts, drove the coverage in a way that no one at Columbine could, back in the day.
"The kids nowadays have practice in performing to wider audiences," points out Alvin Chang, reporter at Vox Media. "They are on social media constantly. They know exactly how to talk to wider audiences, exactly how to, how much they have to be informed in order to talk to wider audiences."
The students propelled themselves into a position of prominence – and landed on a national stage – a CNN town hall debate on the issue of gun control.
"Part of the students' power is that they are young, that they experienced this first hand, it gives them a moral authority and the best way to undercut that is by undermining their credibility," says writer and journalist Emily Witt.
So where does the story go from here? Probably nowhere.
It does what all school shooting stories have done.
With NRATV chipping away at the credibility of the liberal media conspiracy theorists, selling their wares in the right wing bubble and a little help from Fox News and a few others – the story just fades away.
Their social media skills and powers of persuasion served the students well, extending the story's lifespan and likely changing the template of the coverage of such tragedies in the future.
What they haven't changed is the outcome. Maybe next time.
